Steve Orme is an award-winning journalist. He worked on newspapers and magazines before moving into radio and television. He has been fascinated with crime ever since he attended magistrates’ courts as a cub reporter. After watching a crime series on television, Steve decided to enter a competition called Search For a New Crime Writer on the Alibi TV channel. He reached the final and a new career beckoned. He has written two crime novels, Storm Deaths and Storm Bodies, and is working on a third.
Steve is also a playwright. His first stage play, What’s Your Poison?, about the Victorian serial killer Dr William Palmer from Staffordshire who was also known as the Rugeley Poisoner, toured the UK in 2023.
He lives in Derby, England with his wife Sue. They have a grown-up son.
